Rotary Club of Kwinana

Regrettably our new year as a club has not started well
with the very sad passing of our long time
and respected member Past President John Dixon.
John became ill and was admitted
to ICU Fremantle Hospital on Monday 17th Dec.
He regrettably passed away Saturday 5th January 2013.
John became a Rotarian on the 1stNovember 1983
and served our club with distinction until his passing.
He was club President in 1987/88
and held almost all executive positions over his almost 30 years’ service.
He was District Secretary in 1997/98.
John was awarded Rotary’s highest honour, a Paul Harris Fellowship in May 2003
. He was always an ‘active’ member of our club
holding the position of Sergeant this current year.
John was a trusted and respected personal friend
and mentor to many of us and will be sadly missed by all.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE!!!!

I was driving down a lonely country road one cold winter day
when it began to sleet pretty heavily
. My windows were getting icy and my wiper blades were badly worn
and quickly fell apart under the strain.
Unable to drive any further because of the ice building up on my front window
I suddenly had a great idea.
I stopped and began to overturn large rocks
until I located two very lethargic hibernating rattle snakes.
I grabbed them up, straightened them out flat
and installed them on my blades and they worked just fine.
What! You've never heard of wind chilled vipers?
